Black August Day 4/5/6/7/8/9
greetings all
getting my fast in, reading george jackson, planning my actions all with political passion.
its been a minute, apologies, being on the road touring and online doesn't always turn out to be an effective way of staying up to date. so, lets see.
Aug 4th & 5th
studio sessions with creative maze for the new EP released who knows when next year.
we recording smooth breeze and push. autumn leafs and soul train is available on Dark Matters so you could hear a sample of the work that this talented German brother is doing. www.spiritchild.bandcamp.com
much research and prep was done for august 5th which was our Movement In Motion Germany Chapter meet and connect. we discussed Black August, connected struggles on police brutality and gave some political education on oury jalloh http://initiativeouryjalloh.wordpress.com/.
"On January 7, 2005, Oury Jalloh, a young refugee from Sierra Leone/Guinea, was violently detained by the police in the city of Dessau and taken to a holding cell in the basement of the local police station. Four hours later his body was found in a charcoaled state, the corpse chained at the hands and feet to a fireproof mattress. For over 3 1/2 years the Initiative in Memory of Oury Jalloh has fought for truth, justice and indemnization. Nevertheless, the authorities have responded with repression, cover-up and systematic lies. Our struggle continues.
We shall not give up until the truth is told.
"
this conversation lead to a longer plan of action on residenzpflicht here in Germany specifically Berlin http://www.thevoiceforum.org/about
we are working closely with a few immigrant organizations to abolish this law specifically planning actions around the amount of aid or stamps one receives from the state. a few members traveled to Brandenburg to assist with this action. more updates soon. we are planning to release our first volume of music that will connect the issues of residenzpflicht with police brutality here in Germany as well as racial profiling and law enforcement surveillance such as Tarek Mehanna's case.
we also planned and outlined logistics for our next event Aug 28th in Berlin. it'll be a multi media concert with Movement In Motion artist from Berlin as well as affiliated organisations. Aug 19th I will be performing with the Mumia De chapter's major event, i'll post details on that as soon as, as well as the radio interview with the Mumia coalition here in Berlin. we will connect our Brother Tarek Mehanna's www.freetarek.com case and create postcards to send from Berlin to show our brother international support by flooding the boxes.
